Field Trips

**Due to COVID-19 we have cancelled all fall educational tours for 2020. However we will still be offering hayrides to the pumpkin patch**

Our Fall Educational Tour is held every Wednesday – Friday in October.

This year the tour includes an old fashioned hayride around the farm focusing on local Carolina History. Children will learn about nature and the way crops grow with emphasis on the harvesting of pumpkins, strawberries, and the production of Christmas trees. The wagon will stop at our “Sugar Pie” patch for everyone to pick out their own pumpkin during pumpkin season. (Teachers may select a classroom pumpkin from the field or at our Country Store). At the next stop, learn how apple cider is made from an old timey cider mill. (Pasteurized cider will be available for sampling on the Fall Tour only). Finish the tour watching and listening to Granny Mae share her memories of days gone by while she tends her garden and washes clothes with homemade lye soap. She is sure to entertain the children once again. Children will also take home a fall coloring book to reinforce what they learned.

The tour will also include the Dream Big Motivational Magic Show by Chris and Neal. The show will be sure to entertain kids and adults alike while sending an encouraging message.

The educational part of the tour will take about an hour and a half. Please allow additional time for lunch, snacks, restroom visits, and visiting with the animals.

The cost is $10.00 per student and chaperone. There is no charge for teachers or teacher’s aides.
